Joe Freiberg

Joe Freiberg has over 20 years of executive marketing and advertising expertise and is currently the President/Founder and CEO of Pacific Advertising, Inc.   He has a wide breadth of experience in operations, P&L management, strategic positioning and planning, acquisitions, and new market identification with both small, newly established as well as large growth companies.  Joe Freiberg also fully understands the unique challenges of entrepreneurial startup companies as a result of personally founding FMG Marketing, Inc. in San Ramon, CA and growing the company from a one-man operation to over 80 employees and becoming the largest and the top rated advertising agency in the San Francisco East Bay Area.

Joe Freiberg has developed successful marketing and advertising programs over a wide spectrum of  different market areas including healthcare, dental, banking, real estate, chiropractic, telecommunications, retail sales, restaurants, automotive, petrochemical, and other high tech industries.  His creative advertising expertise includes TV, radio, magazine, newspaper ads, direct mail, and website development.  He has a proven track record of increasing the sales and profitability of his clients and is highly skilled in analyzing each industry, the size of the served market, and the strength and weakness of the competition.   Following his analysis, Joe Freiberg then creates a successful advertising program for his clients focusing upon the unique competitive advantages offered by their products and services to the marketplace.

Joe Freiberg holds a Bachelor of Art in Marketing and Advertising and Master of Business Administration.

Charles Donaldson
Vice President of Technology

Charles Donaldson has over 25-years experience developing new businesses and working in the web development field. He has privately founded four successful companies including an automotive research company, which builds automotive research websites for Credit Unions and a web development firm that provides businesses with strategic solutions through the blending of a company’s marketing effort with a dynamic web presence.

His expertise includes custom web development, search engine optimization, social media optimization, creating web content and website platform evaluation. Charles has developed websites for businesses of all sizes across the country.

Additional past experience includes holding executive management and ownership positions at three funded startup companies; all who became successful business and were sold to tier one companies in there industry. Through these positions he worked with companies including Consumer Reports, Money Magazine, AAA, USAA, Volvo, BMW and State Farm.

Mr. Donaldson holds a BS in Finance from the San Jose State University. He has also served as an advisor to a local community college.

Butch Hiller
Vice President of Marketing

Over twenty-eight years of experience in the direct marketing field developing and implementing consumer direct programs for major retailers, home builders, financial and medical companies. 

Programs include everything from creative to implementation, including radio, television, direct mail, and print.  Has worked extensively with manufacturers creating in-house cooperative advertising programs for their affiliates and/or streamlining existing programs.  Clients have included, Wells Fargo, Chase, Countrywide, Ryland, Centex, Shea, Home Depot, La-Z-Boy, and Intralase among others.

Phil Shelp
Vice President of Sales

Phil provides the vision and leadership at Pacific Advertising. He built his firm, TWENTY20, on the premise that the agency’s success will be about creating the most inspiring experiences and showing clients returns that grow their businesses and their brands. Phil oversees the development of the firm's growth strategy, client relationships and people. He also serves as a strategic advisor on client engagements, and has deep expertise in medical/healthcare, retail, financial services and the technology sector.

Prior to TWENTY20, Phil was the founding partner of the esteemed agency, Marketing Group West and the General Manager of FMG Marketing. He has helped orchestrate TWENTY20’s emergence while enhancing the agency’s position as one of the preeminent boutique full-service marketing firms in the Western United States and beyond.

Phil has a keen understanding of the Medical arena with over 12 years of sales and marketing on the client side of the business. And, with 15 years of experience in brand development and consulting, marketing strategy, communications and advertising, on the agency side, Phil brings his keen intellect, infectious positive attitude and years of experience to bear in each and every client engagement he is involved in.

Phil Shelp graduated from the University of South Florida. Later Phil took his 6’7” frame and joined the infamous Washington Generals, where he summarily lost over 500 games to the beloved Harlem Globetrotters

Elaine Davis
Creative Director/Art

Elaine is a native Californian who majored in art and minored in music while working her way through California State University, Chico. Upon graduating, she vowed never to earn her living washing dishes again, went on to Art Center College of Design, then began her career in advertising.

She quickly proved herself as an art director with a fine eye and quick wit that had copywriters, especially the lazy ones, lining up at her cubicle. Agencies like J. Walter Thompson, Ogilvy & Mather, Deutsch, Team One, and Rubin Postaer helped her hone an effective, brand-savvy style of print, television, interactive and direct response advertising for clients such as IBM, Microsoft, HP, Fujitsu, Honda, Acura, Mandalay Bay, Pacific Bell, AT&T, Sprint, KUSC, University of Southern California, Children of the Night, moveon.org, NRDC and the Feminist Majority.

When she's not working, you will find her painting, drawing or taking pictures. Elaine is a firm believer in slow food, fine wine, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and instant karma.

Gil Zeimer
Creative Director/Copy
With over 30 years of copywriting expertise, Gil’s unique background includes writing in general ad agencies, sales promotion, direct response and digital media firms. Over his career, he’s written over 500 radio and TV commercials, mostly for direct response and retail clients. He’s also won more than 25 major industry creative awards, including five Clio nominations.

For the first half of his professional life, he was an ad agency Senior Copywriter and Associate Creative Director at BBDO, Grey, Ketchum (now Chiat/Day), Bozell & Jacobs, The Bloom Agency, and Cohn & Wells Euro RSCG, delivering strategic print and broadcast campaigns, sales brochures and ads.

For the second half, as a freelance Creative Director, he’s been a highly prolific copy consultant by crafting websites, newsletters, ads, blogs, promotions, radio and TV scripts, and a wide variety of direct marketing projects.

Gil has produced results for a diverse group of packaged goods, financial institutions and technology clients, such as Intel, Intuit, Oracle, Symantec, Hewlett-Packard, Sun, Palm/Treo, Mirapoint, FICO, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, Visa, Safeway, Ericsson, Levi Strauss, PricewaterhouseCoopers, FedEx Freight, and more.

John R. Luna
Sales Consultant

John R. Luna brings more than 18 years of experience in executive leadership, business development, marketing, and sales leadership, as well as a wealth of hearing healthcare industry experience.

Mr. Luna has built a number of sales teams in the hearing healthcare industry with a proven track record of running professional, ethical, entrepreneurial sales distribution companies with profitable results. His strong strategic focus, sales and marketing skills, and leadership are tremendous assets to any organization.

His executive business experience includes his most recent position as Vice President of Sales for Unitron Hearing, as well as serving as CEO of Sound Business Consulting Services, President and Chief Operating Officer of Bernafon LLC, and various sales leadership positions.

Mr. Luna has provided exclusive, executive consulting in sales and marketing strategy, sales team leadership, and sales execution for InSound Medical, Inc., developer of the Lyric™ Extended Wear Hearing Device, from September 2006 to April 2009.

Additionally, Mr. Luna has served previously for ReSound Corporation, where he was instrumental in the launch of ReSound's first-generation digital hearing aid, which helped transform the hearing instrument market from an analog to a digital platform. Mr. Luna has also developed and provided sales leadership for Sonic Innovations and Symphonix Devices.

Mr. Luna has served on corporate boards of directors, as well as International marketing boards in the United States and Europe.
